I have a 80 GIG hard drive and because of some unknown reasons it has got corrupted and started giving different errors like; failed data copying or sometimes refuses to copy anything, clicking/humming noise etc. Well I want help in repairing it. One of my friends told me that it can work better if I reinstall a new OS on it, but how it can be possible if it does not allow saving any data? Please guide me how can I repair a hard drive by myself?
Well, you can repair the drive as well as minimize the errors present in it, by following these steps:
1. Open the My computer window.
2. Right click on your drive icon.
3. Select the Properties option.
4. Disk properties will be opened, click on the Tools tab.
5. Select Check now option.
6. And finally select the Automatically fix drive option.
Hopefully this will enable you to eliminate errors from your hard drive and make your drive performance much better. However, if this solution goes in vain then you can possibly contact us at 1.800.347.5377.
