I have WD 500 GB hard drive. It was in good working order but now after using for one year, when I open my computer, it message like “Scan and fix” and when I do that, nothing happens like that. When I try to copy something to the hard drive, my computer hangs and stops everything. However, it copies well from HDD to computer and does not hang.How to recover hard drive with bad sectors

If something happens like that, it means that there are surely bad sectors in your drive. So you will need third party software to hide these bad sectors. You will be thinking that why to hide the bad sectors rather than remove them. The answer is that bad sectors cannot be removed, they can only be hidden.   1. When windows is shut down improperly.
  2. If the head touching the surface of disc.
  3. Air pollution in the unit.
  4. Due to aging processor, data cables or hard drive over heating.

Windows 7 have Check disk utility for Bad sectors.

  1. Go to My Computer.
  2. Right Click on the drive which you want to scan for Bad sectors.
  3. Click properties.
  4. Select Tools.
  5. Click Check Now.
  6. Check the two options there.
  7. Click Start.
  1. Reboot the computer.
